Greywater soak pit
Born in Across India.
How it works
A gravel-and-brick filled pit takes bath and wash water and lets it percolate into the ground instead of stagnating in open drains. The soil finishes the cleaning, mosquitoes lose their breeding pools, and the water table gains back what the house spent.
In a modern home
The same logic sits beside a modern plot as a recharge-cum-soak pit; apartments route RO reject and AC condensate to planted beds instead of the sewer.
