Why it matters
A building quietly decides your comfort, your bills and your health.
Heat sets your bill before the AC does: a home that traps the afternoon runs cooling all night. Water decides whether you ride out a shortage, in cities that have already rehearsed day-zero rationing. Air is a health question and not only a comfort one, because rooms with no light or cross-breeze hold stale air.
Good building has always answered with orientation, mass, shade and air. Vāstav measures how well yours does, and what helps most for the least.

A mature neem or peepal can release hundreds of litres of water vapour a day: a living, no-electricity air conditioner.
Transpiration plus shade cools the air around a big tree by several degrees. Plant one native shade tree on the hottest (west or south) side of the plot.
